In a year like this, complicated and challenging for us winemakers, to make Amarone we will, inevitably, make a tight selection before and during the drying process, and for sure the selected grapes amount will be less than in recent years.
The drying facility with humidity control can help only if you get excellent grapes, without even a spoiled bunch.
Fundamental proper vineyard management, and the grapes from hillside areas will make the difference in terms of quality.
Only when harvest ended, we could say how it will be the vintage 2014 … as we have done in all vintages, good or bad they were.
