The year was characterised from the point of view of the weather by limited rainfall in July, August and the beginning of September. Two heavy showers in mid-September were particularly advantageous, allowing the vines to recover an excellent equilibrium.
The health of the grapes during the season was excellent, without significant diseases of the vines, while grape-picking was slowed down and disturbed only by the heavy rainfall at the beginning of October and by a series of minor hailstorms which took place at the beginning of the summer and in the first week of October, with their epicentre in the upper Marano area.
A plentiful quantity of perfectly healthy grapes was laid to rest, while the withering conditions during the winter were ideal, thanks to low temperatures, regular ventilation every day and very few foggy days.
