monte olmi 2 (1) Monte Olmi 2004 (1)The estate in Valpolicella launches its new image at Vinitaly, has been invited once again to the exclusive event OperaWine and takes part in the seminar of Vinitaly International Academy.

Vinitaly, the annual event for wine professionals and all wine lovers, is about to open its doors. The Salone Internazionale del Vino e dei Distillati will be staged at VeronaFiere on Viale del Lavoro 8 from Sunday 22 March to Wednesday 25 March. As the Expo in Milan is moving to centre stage, this edition will be of paramount importance for the image of Italian wine in the world.

There is no better place for wine estates to present their wines. Verona, the host city of Vinitaly, lies in the heart of Valpolicella, a region of great wines and estates boasting top products. One of them is Tedeschi (, a historical wine estate of this region that produces powerful, elegant, typical wines rich in character. This year it will present its new image that will help to best portrait its identity based on attention to tradition, focus on innovation and knowledge of the local territory.

This year the wine estate focused on its regional identity as a means to improve standards of quality and production: a steadily increasing quality instead of new wines. We invite you to come and visit us at Tedeschi’s stand (pavilion 4 stand C3) to discover our new image and taste our latest vintages.

The 21 March will mark the grand opening of OperaWine at Palazzo della Gran Guardia. The fourth edition of this event is presenting national and international wine professionals 100 remarkable Italian wineries selected by the prestigious American magazine Wine Spectator. The event aims at showing a symphony of the icons of Italian wine in a few hours. Tedeschi has featured in the list since the the first edition of OperaWine and is proud to be once again among the 100 best wines.

Riccardo Tedeschi, the family’s winemaker, describes the wine that Tedeschi will showcase at OperaWine. “Bruce Sanderson, Senior Editor of Wine Spectator, selected Capitel Monte Olmi Amarone della Valpolicella Doc Classico 2004, a vintage that can now express its full potential, 11 years after the harvest. Capitel Monte Olmi is our flagship, a wine that makes us very proud. It represents our father’s legacy and the history of the past 50 years. An extraordinary Amarone, a soloist in Valpolicella, with power and elegance as well as unexpected complexity and length. As a great Amarone, this wine needs time. Our passion has taught us to be patient and wait.

On Sunday 22 March at 3.00 pm, Vinitaly International Academy organizes a seminar under the title “Amarone della Valpolicella: a study through old and new vintages” in the Sala Tulipano of Palaexpo, entrance A1 (level -1). Ian D’Agata, Scientific Director of Vinitaly International Academy, has also selected one of Tedeschi wines, Amarone della Valpolicella Doc Classico La Fabriseria 2007. We are looking forward to see you
