Capitel Monte Olmi 2008, our family’s flagship, is once again the protagonist of Wine Spectator. It achieved one of the highest scores ever in the Amarone category: 92/100

Notes of wild herb, spice box and pekoe tea mark this aromatic red, while grippy tannins frame the tightly knit flavors of dried currant, iron, rhubarb and wood smoke. This traditional style needs air, so enjoy alongside food to get the full effect. Best from 2016 through 2026.—A.N.
